I bought this for my 14-year-old son who loves coding and technology in general. He enjoyed putting the arm together and connecting it to his MacBook. The arm works well, and the control system is very easy to connect to a wide range of devices (more, I believe, than it claims in the instructions). However, my son did find it difficult to get the upper portion of the plastic base to synchronize with the lower part. There are many tabs that are supposed to slot easily into matching holes, but the reality is a bit of a struggle. People who have had prior experience of constructing mechanical toys should have no problem overcoming this obstacle. Newbies may struggle.
